Variant Terms Reference
Barcode
A unique identifier assigned to a variant or case. variants and cases can have multiple barcodes.
Sales Tax
The sum of the individual tax rates assigned to the variant
Case
A unit used for distribution. Multiple variants may come in a single case, larger variants, such as 24 packs, may themselves be a case
Retail Units
The number of variants which come in a single case. Larger variants, such as 24 packs, may themselves be a case and the retail units would then be 1.

Pack Size
The number of bottles, cans, or other unit of measurement that a variant contains. A 24 pack of beer will have a pack size of 24.
Unit Volume
Amount of liquid per can or bottle. Example: 12oz, 750mL
Unit Size
The size of the variant
Quantity on Hand
The current amount of a variant that is in the store
Vendor Part Number
The unique identifier used by the vendor or distributor.
Order Point
The quantity on hand that triggers a reorder
Unit Cost
The purchase cost of the variant
Case Cost
The purchase cost of the case. When retail units are one, the case cost and unit cost will be the same.
Markup
The difference between unit cost and retail price, expressed as a percentage Learn more here
Profit Margin
The percentage of income left after subtracting unit cost from sale price
Retail Price
The general price a customer will pay for the item, pre-tax.
Case Price
The price a customer will pay for a case. Case pricing must be setup before offering bulk-discounts.
Loyalty Price
The price a customer will if they are in the loyalty program
Sale Price
The price a customer paid for a variant
